Yuichiro Morimoto

Chief Strategy Officer

Yuichiro Morimoto, PhD serves as Chief Strategy Officer at KBI Biopharma, Inc. and Chairperson at KBI Biopharma Japan, with accountability for short-term operating results and long-term enterprise value creation. He oversees KPI frameworks and performance dialogues, leads strategic planning and execution, and advances high-impact initiatives across M&A, corporate venture investments, and strategic partnerships. A particular focus of his remit is scaling AI-enabled operations to improve reliability, speed, and cost in GMP environments.

Concurrently, as Head of Corporate Strategy & Innovation at JSR Life Sciences, Morimoto directs group-wide portfolio management, medium- to long-term strategy, and the development of durable competitive advantage. He partners with operating companies to align market opportunities, technology roadmaps, and capacity/network strategy with client needs and scientific progress.

Morimoto brings 20 years of life-sciences experience, including a decade at McKinsey advising global companies on cross-border M&A, operations, and R&D strategy, and service as president of a life-sciences company. He earned his PhD in Nuclear Engineering from The University of Tokyo.
